Hi, everybody! We’ve been keeping our heads down in pre-production for the last week. I’ve been scanning through our budget many times a day, adding in new expenses we didn’t know about, looking for things we can cut, and trying to make it all fit. You know you’ve been staring at a budget too long when it makes you happy to find $100, $50, even $20 you can use somewhere else.
There’s equipment to rent, trucks to drive, people to pay, food to serve, permits to pull, at some point it stops being a film shoot and becomes more of a traveling carnival; after getting all our people and all our stuff to one location, we pick up at the end of the day (or even in the middle of the day) and move to a new location.
But it’s very exciting, and we’re looking forward to our first day of shooting! We pick up everything we’re renting on Monday and roll cameras first thing Tuesday morning.
The number of people and resources you need to bring together for a film shoot is tremendous, and we would not have been able to do it without your support. We love encouraging comments too
